We are not using an online bookstore (formerly MBS / BNC for those who were here); instead we're providing this list of any books and other items that families will need to purchase for the 2024-2025 school year. Items are listed by department then course and have links to purchase, although families are welcome to shop anywhere or acquire "gently used" (i.e. not annotated) copies from siblings, friends, etc. who no longer need them. Families who have any challenges in getting what they need are encouraged to speak to Mr. Andrew Cleminshaw about assistance.
Use this system to complete the necessary forms for your child to complete as an athlete at Hawken. Only needed for students participating in sports in 2024-2025.
Students who are new to Hawken Upper School should submit this form to their previous schools so that we receive the final transcript. For most students, this transcript will be required before students can attend classes in the fall.
Complete the top half yourself, and have your employer complete the bottom, then scan/photo the application and e-mail it to Ms. Susan Peterson. She will return a PDF of the actual permit by e-mail, which you can then print, sign, and submit.
Summer Contacts
Summer Office Hours are 8:30 to 3:30, Monday to Thursday, and 8:30 to 12:30 on Friday. Hours run June 10 through August 2. Offices closed on June 19 and July 4.
Summer is a time to rest and recharge! Email responses may take longer as employees typically won't check messages on holidays, weekends, or vacation days - which, for classroom teachers, includes the whole summer until early August. Your patience is appreciated!
In the Middle School, math packets will be required for the courses listed below. Students will need to "Make a Copy" of the packet (under the File menu) to be able to edit their own version.
In the Upper School, math packets will be required only for Honors/AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and Linear Algebra Honors. The BC packet should be available shortly.
All practices beginning on August 1 should be considered mandatory to remain in good standing on a team. Other summer dates are encouraged; it is strongly recommended you communicate with team coaches regarding attendance at May, June, and July sessions.
Pre-season Meeting for Parents and Student-Athletes - Thursday, August 8, 7:00-8:00 PM in the Kennedy Auditorium (tentative). At least one parent is required to attend this meeting per Hawken participation policy and OHSAA rules.
Other non-fall teams this summer: if you are interested in participating in a winter or spring sport, some of these teams will hold workouts this summer. All coaches contact information can be found on our website Hawken School (hawkenhawks.com)
