* Nicolas Shang '26 in Big Questions Debate
* Serin Arikan '24 was selected to be a member of the North Coast District Worlds Schools Debate Team
Three students qualified for the national tournament at the North Coast District Congressional Debate Tournament held on Feb 10 at Mayfield High School:
* Breck DuPaul '25 in the Senate
* Nicole Rashidi '26 and Samuel Berlin '24 in the House
Hawken won the District Sweepstakes Award for the top school in Congressional Debate at the district tournament on February 10. Hawken won the District Sweepstakes Award for the top school in Debate (Lincoln Douglas, Public Forum, and Policy Debate combined) at the district tournament on February 16-17. Hawken also won the Overall District Sweepstakes Plaque (top school in the district in speech and debate combined).

The NSDA North Coast District tournament is also an additional opportunity to qualify for the state tournament that will be held March 1-2 in Wooster, Ohio. Students who qualified for states at the February 16-17 district tournament are:

These students will join the students who qualified at the Ohio Speech and Debate Association Cleveland District Tournament on February 3 at Olmsted Falls High School who were listed in the February 15 issue of Hawken News. Hawken will have a total of 46 students competing at the state tournament.
