Mastery Transcript Consortium in the News

Earlier today, Scott Looney shared with the Hawken community exciting news about a project that Hawken has played a central role in launching: the Mastery Transcript Consortium.

This consortium of more than 100 independent schools is working together to change the transcript options for high schools. As Looney explains, “The new initiative will not be instituted immediately but rather over the long-term. What this means for Hawken is the that one day, we hope to offer families two options for being assessed and credited in high school: the current model and this new mastery option. Realistically, this will take many years of collaborative work to become a reality.”

The Mastery Transcript Consortium was just awarded a $2 million grant from the Edward E. Ford Foundation, and it is garnering a good deal of press coverage. You can read more about this on both Cleveland.com and Inside Higher Ed, the most visited website in higher education.

Hawken is grateful to the Ford Foundation for their generous support of this initiative, and we are proud that Hawken has once again been recognized as a thought leader in developing best practices for the future of education.
