HPS Nominated for 7 Dazzle Awards
Congratulations to the Hawken Players Society on being nominated for seven 2017 Dazzle Awards for their recent production of Les Miserables.
With the aim of inspiring performance and recognizing the importance of musical theater and arts education in Northeast Ohio high schools, the Dazzle Awards program is affiliated with the National High School Musical Theater Awards presented by The Broadway League Foundation. This year's winners will be acknowledged at an awards showcase to be held at Playhouse Square on May 20, 2017.
Hawken was nominated for awards in the following categories: Best Actor (Joey Tate '17), Best Scenic Design, Best Ensemble Chorus, Best Supporting Actress (Cassandra Knaggs '17 and Becky Maly '19), Best Technical Execution, and Best Musical, Tier 2. Nominations and awards are based on the evaluations of an independent panel of adjudicators.
The winners of the Best Actor and Actress categories will represent Northeast Ohio at the National High School Musical Theatre Awards in June, 2017 in New York City.
