Sixth Grader Stars in Holocaust Theater Project
Milena Fernsler, a Hawken 6th grader, will play one of the lead roles in The Star on My Heart, an original play based on the true story of Holocaust survivor Inge Auerbacher.
Written by Ohio writer and theater director Angela Miloro-Hansen, the play will premiere at Geauga Lyric Theater Guild in Chardon on November 13-15 and at Shore Cultural Centre in Euclid on November 20 - 22. Ms. Auerbacher will be present at both Sunday shows and will give several talks around Cleveland during the week. In spite of the heavy subject matter, the play is written with young audiences in mind and provides a great way to educate older kids and teens about compassion and tolerance.
