Film Internship A Valuable Experience

Three members of the Class of 2013 connected with film producer Todd Lieberman '91 for a summer internship with the help of Hawken's alumni office.

Victoria Jones '13, Jessica Waters '13 and Sam Weil '13 travelled to Los Angeles for an eight-week internship with Mandeville Films and Television, co-founded by Todd Lieberman, Hawken Class of 1991.

During their internship, the trio read scrips and wrote summaries and recommendations.

"The experience was invaluable," said Victoria, "and allowed me to learn more about the production side of the film industry and gain a better understanding as to what being a producer entails."
 
Victoria learned about Lieberman when he spoke to the Upper School during an alumni career panel in the spring of 2013. Hawken's Alumni Office put the students in touch with Lieberman this past spring.
 
Victoria recently emailed: "Got back from LA a couple weeks ago and just wanted to thank you again for reaching out to Todd and helping out with the whole internship process. It was a blast! We actually got a chance to sit down and talk with Todd on our last day, which was awesome. And of course, we had to get a picture."
 
Todd Lieberman '91 is partner and co-owner of Mandeville Films and Television where he is one of the leading producers in the entertainment industry today. Since its founding in 1995, Mandeville Films has produced feature films that have grossed well over $1 billion in domestic box office receipts.
