Hawken School has planned an impressive array of community-wide events May 15-17 to celebrate the School's 100th anniversary.
From a panel discussion featuring five living Hawken headmasters to a re-enactment of faculty emeriti Larry Nelson’s historical tours of the Circle W (Gates Mills) grounds; from the Gallery 100 art exhibit featuring George Roby and the Roby Art Award Winners to Hawken’s varsity team competitions - there’s something for every member of our community to enjoy!
The School welcomes alumni on Friday, May 15 for
Alumni Give Back Day, when more than 50 graduates will share their knowledge and experience with Upper School students through classes, workshops, and activities. Alumni will then have the opportunity to
tour the Lyndhurst campus and visit with their classmates at the
Alumni Chapel Program for old-guard graduates, the
Four School Party, and
Class Reunion Gatherings around town.
Friday also includes the community-wide
Gallery 100 Art Opening Reception with George Roby featuring alumni works, Roby award winners and senior artwork on the Gates Mills Campus from 3-5pm.
Saturday's activities at the Gates Mills campus are open to the entire community and start with the
Headmaster Panel from 10-11am. Join Head of School Scott Looney and four former headmasters as they share their experiences at Hawken and their thoughts on the future of education. From 11am to 12:30pm, faculty and students will share information on Hawken's innovative programming at the
Faculty Fair.
Outdoor Leadership hosts a hands-on session from 11am-12:30pm, and the
Red & Gray Picnic offers lunch from 11:30am to 1:30pm.
