Two Seniors Receive Merit Scholarships
Congratulations to seniors Maureen Rakovec and Matthew Thompson for receiving corporate scholarships from The National Merit Scholarship Corp.
Out of more than 1000 national winners, 40 scholarship recipients were from Ohio and 15 from northeast Ohio. The scholarships are financed by corporations, company foundations, and other business organizations.
The National Merit program recognizes students with high SAT scores and a strong academic record. More than 1.4 million high school juniors across the country competed for 7,600 positions and $34 million in scholarship money this year.
