Hawken Shares Schedule Experience with Albuquerque Academy
Director of Faculty Development and Humanities Teacher Dorothy Moulthrop visited Albuquerque Academy during spring break to share Hawken's experience with teaching and learning in long blocks.
Moulthrop presented to faculty at the grade 6-12 coed day school, sharing Hawken's schedule change story and outcomes.
Albuquerque Academy will adopt a new schedule next year that will included 75-minute blocks.
"Dorothy Moulthrop’s presentation was just what the doctor ordered," commented History Teacher Rolf Lokke. "I thought she presented a positive and constructive lens through which to see the innovations that we will need to make as we think about next year."
In addition to presenting to the full faculty, Moulthrop met with departments and department chairs to discuss the challenges and opportunities their schedule change will bring.
