Graduate Shares Expertise at Museum Symposium

Harvey Webster '69, director of wildlife resources at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, will speak at an all-day symposium that will look at ways to prevent extinctions in Ohio.

Webster will share his knowledge about the extinction of the passenger pigeon in an effort to educate people about the ongoing Sixth Great Extinction and to explore hopeful conservation efforts.

In a recent Plain Dealer article, Webster called the demise a century ago of passenger pigeons an "important and sad milestone in our relationship with the natural world, one that carries such resonance for today."

Registration is required for the September 5 event which will be held at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Click here for details.
