Hawken Tennis Advances to States
Hawken Boys Tennis has advanced to States on two different fronts, in both the OHSAA Individual Singles Tournament, and in the OTCA State Team Tournament. Both tournaments finish out this weekend in Columbus.
Sid Ahuja ’14 and Dhruv Yadav ’14 finished 4th and and 2nd respectively at the District Tournament, and play Friday at 9:00AM at the Ohio State University Outdoor Varsity Tennis Courts. Two of the 16 players in the Division II bracket are Hawken tennis players.
In the team tournament, the Hawks hosted rival University School on Tuesday in the State Quarterfinal match. Hawken prevailed 3-1, with one court unfinished. Hawken swept the singles matches with Seniors Dhruv Yadav at 1st singles, Sid Ahuja and 2nd, and Adam Lee at 3rd. Hawken joins Columbus Academy, Lexington HS, and Summit Country Day School in the State Final Four, to be played Sunday at Reynoldsburg HS. The D-II semifinals begin at 9:00AM; the Championship and 3rd/4th place matches will take place following the D-I semis, which will follow the D-II semis.
