Debaters Champs Again
Tim Perevozchikov '14 and Zach Kirsch '14 were named Public Forum champions of the 2014 National Catholic Forensic League Grand National Tournament held in Chicago, May 24-25.
There were 233 Public Forum pre-qualified teams competing. Tim and Zach only dropped one ballot in the elimination rounds winning double-octas 3-0, octas 2-1, quarters 3-0, semifinals 5-0, and the final round 5-0.
Will Mascaro '14 placed 5th in Congressional Debate. Nicole Kastelic, a sophomore in Lincoln Douglas Debate, was the 33rd seed, barely missing qualification for the double-octa round.
Hawken was one of six schools that received Debate School of Excellence Awards, indicating that Hawken placed in the top six in debate team sweepstakes.
