Zalar Named Soccer Player of the Year
Kat Zalar '14 has been named Girls Soccer Player of the Year by the News-Herald. Mackenzie Lesnick '14 and Bianca Medancic '15 received First Team honors, and Miranda Holizna '15 received Second Team honors.
In addition to making the News-Herald All Stars list, Zalar, Lesnick, Medancic and Holizna helped lead the girls soccer team to their first state competition, emerging as State Runner-Up champions.
“We worked four years to finally be in this position," Zalar said in a News-Herald article after winning against Oak Harbor to reach the state finals. "I know every girl going through our program just wanted to be here. It’s great to be able to do this with this team. We’ve been so close this year, and we’re out there playing for each other.”
