Senior Receives State Department Scholarship
Congratulations to Sarah Jammal '13 who has received a scholarship for a year of study in China awarded by the National Security Language Initiative for Youth.
Sarah Jammal '13 has received a scholarship for a year of study in China. Awarded by the National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) and sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, NSLI-Y sends American students abroad to learn languages that the US government deems critical, including Arabic, Chinese, Persian, Hindi, Korean, Russian and Turkish.
The program includes orientation sessions, language and cultural instruction with opportunities to apply acquired skills and knowledge, cultural excursions, community service projects and accommodations with a host family.
