To apply for the scholarship, students submitted 500-word essays about an important life lesson and how they will apply it to their future. A scholarship committee reviewed essays from more than 600 students.

Annie plays field hockey and lacrosse for Hawken and serves on the Integrity Council. She is also the AffNo sports editor and has spearheaded several philanthropic projects, including raising monehy for Haiti following the earthquake in 2010.
