Wrestlers Show Strength at CVC Championships

The Hawken Wrestling team showed their strength earlier this month at the Chagrin Valley Conference Championships held at Kenston High School. Wrestling teams can have 14 weight classes on a team, but the Hawks only had five competing and four of those individuals placed at the tournament.

Jeff Christian '15 was 6th at 170 pounds, and three of his teammates reached the finals. Alex Stotter '14 was runner-up to the conference MVW in the 195 pound class.  Sophomore Louis DeMarco '15 started the finals off with a convincing 7-3 victory and was crowned champion of the 106 pound class. Louis is now 34-4 on the season.  Junior Seth King also earned a championship, winning an exciting 4-3 match in the 152 pound final.  This match was a rematch of the HIT final, and this time Seth was the victor.  Seth is now 36-4 on the season. This week the Hawks will travel to Beachwood for the Sectional Tournament.
