Jaffe Brothers Compete at National Skating Championships

Micah Jaffe '14 and his partner Kimberly Berkovich competed in the 2013 National Skating Championship in Omaha, NE, last week, placing 10th in the Novice competition. Micah and Kimmie started competing in 2010, were pewter medalists at junior championships last year and bronze medalists at Midwestern sectionals to qualify for nationals this season. Micah skates 2-3 hours a day and takes off-ice conditioning, yoga and ballet classes. He’ll search for a new partner to continue competing on a national level, as Kimmie relocates to Detroit.

Older brother Jacob Jaffe '12 and his partner Hannah Rosinski also competed at Nationals in Omaha. Last year they were National Bronze medalists in Novice Dance. This year they skated up to the Junior dance level and placed 8th out of 12 teams. Jacob deferred entry to Brown University to train with Hannah for this competitive season. He is "retiring" from competitive skating after this season and will travel to Israel to spend five months on a kibbutz for an intensive language and work/study program before entering Brown in the fall.
