Insight Week Offers Range of Experiences

Middle School students returned from winter break to a change in routine as they engaged in Hawken’s third annual Insights Week.

 

Born out of the academic passions of the middle school faculty, students were immersed in innovative and engaging interdisciplinary courses composed of students from mixed grade levels and using the Greater Cleveland area as a resource for projects and explorations.

Lower School students engaged in their own, mini-Insights Week as second and third grade teachers prepared units of study based on personal interests to cover domains of learning. The students were placed into mixed grade groups and each afternoon traveled to one of five intensive classes including an author study, the art of flight, swim competitions, winter olympics, and a class on Japanese bonsai tree art.
