Basketball Team Donation Makes Plain Dealer

In a column by Tim Rogers in today's Plain Dealer the following item appeared.  Congratulations, team!  We're proud of you!

Paying it forward: For the past six to seven years, members of the Hawken School team have made weekly visits to the Metzenbaum School for the mentally and developmentally disabled to work out with that facility's basketball team. In an effort to help raise money for the team, the Hawks have been selling T-shirts with "McGregor's Militia" inscribed on the front.

Bob McGregor, the father of Hawken coach Shawn McGregor, coaches the Metzenbaum squad. Before tonight's game against Cuyahoga Heights, captain David Nelson will present a check to Metzenbaum School. While an exact total has not been determined, it is believed it will be in excess of $850, the largest since the program began, a spokesperson said.
