Hawken Community Collects Shoes

The National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) North Coast Ohio Chapter and Hawken School are teaming up in an effort to collect shoes for the organization Soles4Souls.

Hawken students and families from both campuses are participating in a drive. A truck arrived at Lyndhurst on December 3 to collect 750 shoes that had been donated so far. The drive will continue until mid January and families are encouraged to help NAPO reach the goal of collecting 20,000 pairs of shoes.

All kinds of shoes are being accepted, even only one of a pair. Pairs of shoes should be tied together by laces or a rubber band and there are drop off boxes in each division. For more information you can contact Hawken parents Muffy Kaesberg for the Upper School drive at 216-321-6126, or Nicole Lincoln for the Lower and Middle School drive at 440-840-1078.

Soles4Souls is a Nashville-based charity that collects shoes from the warehouses of footwear companies and the closets of people like you. The charity distributes these shoes to people in need, regardless of race, religion, class, or any other criteria. Since 2005, Soles4Souls has delivered over 16 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes to people in over 127 countries, including Kenya, Thailand, Nepal and the United States.
