Advanced Acting Intensive to perform "Laramie Project"

The Upper School Advanced Acting Intensive, in association with the Hawken Players’ Society, will present Moises Kaufman and Tectonic Theater Project’s controversial exploration of the human condition, The Laramie Project. The production will run December 15-18 in the Kennedy Auditorium on the Upper School campus.

 

The Laramie Project follows the town of Laramie, Wyoming as it deals with the aftermath of a horrific hate crime towards a young gay man, Matthew Shepard. With the real-life interviews and trials that surround this event, as well as the horror and pain that the town experiences comes a message of H-O-P-E and an everlasting fight for equality. (Due to language and adult content in this production parental discretion is advised.)

 

The cast features Adam Wolf ’13, Jamie Foti ’12, Justin Faulhaber, Liam Oznowich, Seth Mendel, Nya Braxton, Victoria Jones, Sarah Doody, Caroline Maimbourg ’13, Caroline Hurwitz ’13, Kennedy Clyde '12, Ja’Nae Morris ’12, and Spencer Olson ’13.

 

The Advanced Acting Intensive is a three week, all-day class for experienced student actors. The entire production will be staged, memorized and polished solely within the three week time period. In addition to acting in this show, each student has also played a role in the off-stage aspects of this production. The creative team for this intensive is headed by Mike Larochelle (Director / Designer), assisted by Ken McClintock.

 

TICKETS to The Laramie Project may be reserved by phone at (440) 423-2076 or purchased in person at the box office before each performance. Tickets are $12 for patron seating and $5 for general admission. Performance times are Dec.15-17 at 7:30 p.m., and Dec. 18 at 2:00 p.m.
