Girls Tennis 3rd in State; Girls Golf 5th!
The Hawken girls tennis team played in the D-II State Team Tournament Final Four in Columbus on Sunday, October 23rd. They were defeated in the semifinals by Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, but won in the 3rd place match over Columbus Academy. Surya Khadilkar '12, Sydney Green '15, and Emily Leizman '13 played at 1st, 2nd, and 3rd singles, and Eve Kerman '12/Lindsay Greig '12 and Claire Cohen '12/Jennifer Mazanec '12 were at 1st and 2nd doubles. Congratulations Hawks --3rd in the State!
The girls golf team, coached by Debby Horowitz, and comprised of Allie Schwertner '12, Meredith Cohen '14, Ali Gole '14, Beatrice Cahill-Camden '14, and Haley Newman '15, finished 5th in the OHSAA State Golf Tournament! Twelve teams from around the state qualified for the Division II tournament. Sophomore Meredith Cohen finished 15th overall, three places out of All-Ohio. Congratulations Hawks!
