Hawken Reaches Record Enrollment
The Hawken community has much to be proud of as the academic year begins, and there are more students than ever to share the school’s pride.
A record number of 971 students are enrolled for the 2011-2012 school year, which represents an additional 30 students (a 3.2% increase) from last year. This record enrollment can be attributed to extraordinarily strong re-enrollment rates, and increased interest due to the opening of the new Early Childhood Center. The early childhood and lower school grades are at record high enrollments.
In a challenging economic landscape where many independent schools are experiencing decreasing student numbers, Hawken’s record enrollment appears to be affirmation that families appreciate the values embedded in our Purpose, Promise and Principles and recognize that endeavors such as the new Early Childhood Center and The Gries Center for Experiential and Service Learning will provide added value for their children.
