Awards Day 2011

Rachel Brenner '11 received the Alumni Association`s highest student honor, the Charles B. Bolton Award, at Awards Day ceremonies held on Friday, June 3. The Bolton Award, which was first given in 1977, is the culminating honor on Awards Day and is among the most highly anticipated honors a senior can receive. The Bolton Award is bestowed upon a Hawken student who excels in all aspects of education and in so doing has truly lived up to the Hawken motto: "That each generation introduce its successor to a higher plane of life." Presenting the award to Ms. Brenner was Peter Jacobson '81, President of the Alumni Association.

Nearly 100 students were recognized for excellence in math, science, English, the arts and more at this year`s Awards Day, the last official assembly seniors will experience before Commencement. Faculty, staff, students and parents alike gathered in Kennedy Auditorium to once again salute the exceptional accomplishments of Hawken Upper School students and to bid farewell to departing and retiring faculty members.
