Prior to attending a production of Shakespeare’s Othello at Playhouse Square tomorrow, students in the 10th grade humanities classes had a unique opportunity this morning to meet David Anderson, who plays the leading role in that production. In addition to speaking to the students about how he came to be cast in this particular production, Mr. Anderson shared his experience of becoming an actor, facing racial barriers in his career as an actor, getting over the “awe” of Shakespeare, and other challenges of his professional journey. He also emphasized how important collaboration, life experience, and on-the-job training have been in his growth and success as an actor. Many thanks to both Mr. Anderson and to the Floyd family for making this wonderful opportunity available to our students!
