Peter Scott Reads at Hiram College

English teacher Peter Scott was a featured author in Hiram College's "Big Read" program last week. At the Garfield Meeting House on Hiram's campus, students and faculty gathered to listen to Peter read selections from his first book, Lost Crusade: America's Secret Cambodian Mercenaries, a non-fiction account of his experiences as a soldier in Cambodia in the late 1960s.

Following the reading, Peter led a discussion about the book and his three published novels about how World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War affected Americans: The Boy Who Came Walking Home, Something in the Water and Barter Island. Hiram's Big Read is an NEA funded program that brings authors to campuses and communities to encourage the reading of literature.
