Upper School French Students Visit with Native Speaking Author

Jodie Gill`s French 4 Honors and French 4 and 5 classes were among a small group of students invited to Case Western University by Prof. Cheryl Tomam, Associate Professor of French, for a program given by award winning author L+â-¬onora Miano, who spoke to the students in French about her work, her inspiration, and the art of writing. The students were able to converse with her in French after the talk and were given a personalized, signed copy of her latest book, Afropean Soul and Other Stories, which focuses on the marginalized youth of African origins living in Paris. Michelle May-Curry `11 appreciated the opportunity to \"put our knowledge to the test as we listened to the author speak.\"
