Hawken Junior Receives Two Service Awards for Butterfly Project

lvl
Congratulations to junior Emily Weatherhead for receiving both the 2009 Gold Service Award from Teens for Planet Earth and the 2009 Outstanding Youth Service Award from the Youth Philanthropy and Service Youth Committee of the Mandel Center at CWRU. Emily`s project, funded in part by a grant she received last year from the Ohio Division of Wildlife, has expanded since its inception last year, when she and a team of other Hawken students planted a garden on campus to create a habitat for the rare and endangered Harris Checkerspot butterfly. Read about the Teens for Planet Earth winners here and more about Emily`s project here. Congratulations, Emily!
