Sixth Graders Paint a Bright Future for Residents at IHN

lvl
On Saturday, April 11th, several sixth graders and family members spent their morning in community service to benefit the residents of the Interfaith Hospitality Network Family Center in Shaker Heights. Parker Selman and her mother, Caroline, the entire Looney family, George and Katelyn Long, Jaylen Bannerman, Maddie Hengst, Conrad Young, Ben Licata, Cameron Biddle, and Kerry Gnandt completed the mural that all students in the Bolton/Halliday and Richmann advisories began several weeks ago. In addition, these dedicated workers washed windows, reorganized the library, and wiped down cabinets. We are very grateful to Executive Director, Sarah Cruise, for allowing the sixth grade students from these two advisories to build their community service around designing and painting a meaningful and beautiful mural that portrays hope for homeless families and for providing a most enriching service learning opportunity for them.
