Battle of the Bands Fundraiser

Hawken will host its second annual Battle of the Bands fundraiser on Friday, January 9th at 7:00 p.m. in the Kennedy Auditorium on the Gates Mills campus. Admission is $5.00, and tickets will go on sale starting January 5th. The event will help fund Hawken`s summer service program, Seeds of Learning, a non-profit organization founded by Hawken alumnus Todd Evans `50. Seeds of Learning has been building schools and learning centers in Nicaragua and El Salvador for fifteen years. Hawken has sent teams of students and teachers to support this charitable effort in years past and will travel to Nicaragua this coming summer. If any students are interested in participating in this service adventure, there is still room for a couple of more volunteers - so hurry to secure your spot! Proceeds from the Battle of the Bands will go directly towards the cost of building and classroom learning materials. In addition to cash donations, in-kind donations of school supplies are also welcomed; a list of needed items can be found on Hawknet.
