Eight Hawken Sixth Grade Girls to Attend Be WISE Camp

Eight sixth grade girls will attend Be WISE camp at Denison University this summer in June. The camp is designed for rising seventh and eighth grade girls to inspire them to continue their studies in the fields of mathematics and science. The program is staffed by female educators who have an interest in helping young women develop and sustain confidence in their abilities to succeed in math and science courses throughout high school and college. Hands-on activities generate interest and engage students in applications of physics, chemistry, astronomy, ecology, math, environmental science, and computer technology. The Hawken students who will particpate in the program this summer are Anna Du, Nora Eagan, Bryce Lewis, Efae Nicholson, Eleanor Rimmerman, Sarah Speroff, Sarah Stark and Sindhura Vallabhaneni.
