Upper School Students` Fight against Suicide

Behind homicide and accidents, suicide is the third leading cause of death for 15 to 24-year-olds. Sadly, it`s an epidemic that`s hit close to home for a few Hawken families and one that a group of Upper School students has committed itself to combating. As part of that fight, a Hawken Team will participate in the Suicide Prevention Educational Alliance`s (SPEA) \"Walk Into the Light\" on September 30 at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. The event helps SPEA live out its mission \"to prevent suicide and promote recognition of adolescent depression through education and alliances with community partners.\" Hawken has for a number of years been a top fundraiser and needs your help today.
