Cedar, Mayfield construction causing considerable delays

If you`re used to traveling Mayfield or Cedar between Hawken`s Lyndhurst and Gates Mills campuses, you might want to plan an alternate route. Construction on Mayfield Rd. has traffic funneling to one lane each way, resulting in long backups. And relief is not in sight as the Mayfield Rd. project`s tentative completion date is September 2009. The Cedar Rd. construction project is slated for completion in June of 2008 and slows travel along the Gates Mills Blvd.-Cedar Rd. route between Hawken campuses. So what`s a traveler to do? Here`s some advice, assuming orange barrels don`t show up on Wilson Mills Blvd.: If traveling from the Gates Mills campus to the Lyndhurst campus or headed west, we would recommend that you take Wilson Mills Rd. west to I-271 south to the Cedar/Brainard Rd. exit. Turn right onto Brainard Rd. and then left onto Meadow Wood Blvd. Follow Meadow Wood Blvd. into the Lyndhurst campus entrance. If traveling from the Lyndhurst campus to the Gates Mills campus or east, we would recommend you take Meadow Wood Blvd. to Brainard Rd. and turn right. Then take I-271 north, pass the Mayfield Rd. exit and take the next exit onto Wilson Mills. Follow Wilson Mills Rd. east (becomes Brigham Rd.) to County Line Rd. Turn right on County Line and follow to campus entrance on left. (As an alternate route, you can take Richmond Rd. north to Wilson Mills Rd. and turn right, proceeding to County Line Rd.)
