Jonathan Meckler, current seventh grade student, has qualified to represent Hawken Middle School at the state level of the National Geographic Bee, sponsored by JPMorgan Chase. The state bee will be held on March 30, 2007, at Ohio State University, Mansfield Campus. This is not a new experience for Jonathan, as he represented Hawken at last year`s state level competition as well. Having won Hawken`s Geography Bee earlier in the year, Jonathan will now attempt to advance to the national competition, which will be held in late May at the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C. Please join us in wishing Jonathan all the best at the upcoming state level competition. The National Geographic Bee has been an annual event in the Middle School for the past ten years. Mr. Jim Scully, 7th grade history teacher, has graciously run this event since he joined the Hawken faculty. For more information about the National Geographic Bee, click here.
