Students explore professions at Career Fair

L2k
Juniors and seniors recently had the opportunity to explore their futures during Hawken`s first Career Fair. As students filed into the gymnasium, a distinguished group of 25 parents and graduates sat poised to share their personal career paths during 35-minute "roundtable" discussions. The list of experts and range of professions was impressive. For students interested in comedy writing, Marc Jaffe `76 related how he came to write for the TV show "Seinfeld." Parent Tom Ondrey was interested in being a writer when he was in high school, but now he combines his love for photography and history as a photographer for the Plain Dealer. And those interested in medicine, law, sports management or architecture also had their chance to hear from experts in those fields. The Career Fair was part of Hawken`s Pathways Program, which offers Hawken students multiple opportunities to gain career knowledge and experience by networking with Hawken parents and graduates.
