Hawken-US basketball game on Fri, Feb. 23

The Varsity boys basketball team will face rival University School on Friday, February 23 at 7:30 p.m. It is one of Hawken`s most anticipated athletic events of the year. The sold-out game will be the last of two Pathways Program \"projects\" that had Hawken students marketing two basketball games with the help of Cleveland Cavaliers professionals. The other \"project\" was a girls basketball game earlier this month, where notable female atheletes, past and present, were honored. Those who possess a ticket issued for the original game on February 13 will be admitted to the game. Because the game was rescheduled and tickets are non-refundable, some seats may go unfilled; this means that some tickets could be available for the game. Game officials will not know how many seats will be available until after the first quarter, at which time they will sell tickets to persons on a wait list. Names for the wait list will be accepted on Friday beginning at 6 p.m. in the Smith Lobby. Due to limited seating capacity, Hawken will impose a mandatory coat-check in the Smith Lobby for all attendees. The Junior Varsity game, which begins at 6:00 p.m., is not sold out and will be played in the original gymnasium, which can be entered through the Smith Lobby or the Gries Wall of Fame entrance. Please be aware that parking on Hawken`s campus will be limited on Friday evening, when both Hawken`s winter musical, \"Little Shop of Horrors,\" and this sporting event will occur. It is important that you obey posted parking restrictions.
