Student spearheading Ronald McDonald House food drive

Jess Weiner, a current 8th grade student, is taking the lead on raising food items for the Family Room at the Cleveland Ronald McDonald House. According to Jess, the Family Room, an extension of the Ronald McDonald House itself, is \"a place where families can spend time away from the hospital where their child is being cared for. It`s equipped with a stocked kitchenette, a dining area, a computer with internet access, laundry facilities, and a comfortable living room with a play area.\" Jess notes that the kitchen in the Family Room is stocked with a wide variety of snacks and beverages to help them feel confortable and refuel. It is only through the generosity of volunteers and donors that all of these goods and services are provided to families at no cost. Jess has challenged the entire Middle School community with a Food Drive, asking them to bring in non-perishable food items that will directly benefit the Family Room. This Food Drive kicks-off this Wednesday (10/18) with a Dress Down Day and will conclude on Friday, October 27th with another Dress Down Day! In order to \"dress down\" for these days (10/18 & 10/27), students are asked to bring in non-perishable food items (e.g. pre-packaged snack and meals). Students can also bring in $1 to \"dress down\"; the money will directly benefit the Family Room as well.
