The Plain Dealer`s Bob Fortuna went \"Off campus with...\" Hawken sophomore Pia Trikha, one of the top three golfers on Hawken`s Women`s Varsity Golf Team. Here`s the interview that was featured in the PD`s Thursday, September 28 issue of The Locker Room, its high school sports supplement. Pia Trikha - Hawken Golfer The lowdown: The 15-year-old sophomore is a two-year starter and one of the top three golfers on Hawken`s squad. However, squash is the sport she excels in. The Pepper Pike resident is ranked 18th in the nation by the United States Squash Racquets Association. Which sport is your favorite? \"Squash, because I`ve played it longer and have put a lot of time into it. I`ve been playing it for eight years. It`s great exercise and it`s fun. I had a great coach [Scott Denne] for eight years, but he got a job in St. Louis. My new coach is Nathan Dugan and he`s great, too.\" Why the interest in squash? \"My dad [Raj] and brother [Nik] play. In fact, Nik is the No. 1 player at Columbia University.\" How is the squash competition? \"There are no girls around here I can work out with, but there`s five or six guys in the area I train with.\" When does the squash season run? \"From October to March.\" Other sports: \"I used to play soccer, basketball and softball. I also run, bike and swim to stay in shape for squash.\" Last good book you read: \"Catcher in the Rye.\" Favorite food: Pizza with everything, except anchovies. Favorite subject: Math If you could be anyone in the world, who would you choose? \"Since I`m thinking about specializing in sports medicine, I`d like to find the great cure. Like maybe finding the solution to why so many athletes are tearing their ACLs.\"
