Young Writers Assert Their Power...of the Pen

Four Hawken middle schoolers participated in the Power of the Pen writing state competition on Friday, May 26th at Wooster College. Eighth grader Hannah Pittman and seventh graders Hannah Kerman, Julie Zeilinger and Nick Richard had to \"out-write\" over 7,500 writers around the state in order to make it to states. Julie Zeilinger and Hannah Kerman competed in the power round (a sort of best of the best competition). Hannah Kerman came in 6th in the state overall.
