Parlez Vous Francais? These Students Do!
Two Hawken French students placed in Ohio and nationally on the National French Exam. Hawken had the only students with a first place ranking in Ohio, Sami Stilson and Sam Broer. Over 100,000 students participate in this test. Nine other Hawken students placed in the top ten rankings nationally. Each year The American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) sponsor the contest. The test lasts one hour and has both oral and written components. The contest takes place each spring and has several levels beginning with elementary. Hawken students participate in the middle school level that covers material from both the 7th and 8th grade.
