Hawken Family Active in Fight Against Breast Cancer
The Berns family and the Susan G. Komen Foundation invites you to celebrate your mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and all the women you love on Mother`s Day 2006. Run or walk in the 3rd Annual, One-Mile Komen Kids For The Cure+é-« and raise money to fight breast cancer at Legacy Village on May 14, 2006, Funds will benefit breast cancer research. The Berns family founded the event 2 years ago. Last year approximately 1000 people participated to raise over $60,000. Read more about how they started this event here and here. On the day of the race, there will be food, prizes given away, clowns, and an opportunity for kids to create Mother`s Day cards. A prize will be given to the school with the best participation as well as the individual who raises the most funds for the cause. Learn more about the event or register for the event.
