Robots Take Center Stage at Case Engineering Week
Hawken entered two robots in the High School Lego Robot competition at Case against 44 other teams from area high schools. One robot lost in the first round. Two tied Lake Ridge Academy in the first round, advancing to the second round by a coin-flip tie-breaker. Those two eventually fell in the second round. The robot`s task was to find the flashing light and come to a halt at the light for 3 seconds. Both Hawken and Lake Ridge scored 1 point in the round. Unfortunately, Hawken got stuck along the sideboard for a long time. Participants in the competition were Peter Hedman `06, Matt Dahlhausen `07, Ian Wilson `09, Alex Ferris `09, Patrick Barnes `09, and Will Crownover `09.
