Photographer Alum Featured in Magazine and Exhibition

Work by photographer and Hawken alum Sara Guren `96 is featured The exhibition Sharing Our Vision, a collaboration between Northern Ohio Live and the Photographers of the North Coast Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers. In celebration of the magazine`s 25th Anniversary, members of the ASMP were invited to pick their best images of Cleveland, Clevelanders, and the environs taken over the past 25 years. Her work also appears in the September edition of the magazine. After Hawken, Sara went on to the University of Michigan earning a B.A. in Psychology. Later, she completed two summers at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography to develop her skills as a professional photographer. Sara has shot for books, jewelry catalogues, horse shows, advertisements, and portraiture, but her recent work has focused on serving non-profit organizations such as Therapeutic Riding Center - Fieldstone Farm, Cleveland Botanical Garden, Hershey Montessori School, and Geauga Humane Society - Rescue Village. Sara especially enjoys photographing people interacting with their environments. As a fine art and documentary photographer, Sara strives to relate her work to real life. Sara`s own interests and experiences are as varied as her work. Having moved seasonally throughout the Western and Midwestern US as well as abroad in New Zealand and Italy, Sara is back in northeast Ohio.
