Swimmers Give Time and Talent This Season
The Hawken Swim Team kicked off its 2009 season in November by giving the gift of its time and talent. Eighteen Hawks and Head Coach Jerry Holtrey volunteered at the Special Olympics Ohio State Qualifying Meet in Wooster to provide for others the same athletic opportunities they enjoy. Organized by Ellen Drake ’11, the supporting Hawks included: David Aronoff ’10, Amanda Moore ’10, Dana Shaker ’10, Lizzie Aronoff ’12, Jordan Bitterman ’12, Morgan Cohara ’12, Maria Kolesar ’12, Meggie Pernsteiner ’12, Katelyn Ursu ’12, Carrie Bencic ’13, Marissa Cominelli ’13, Kaitlyn Cerne ’13, Lauren Crawford ’13, Grace Foster ’13, Emily Heyd ’13, Liam Oznowich ’13, Haley Schubert ’13. The Hawken Swim Team’s effort this year was partially underwritten by a grant from the Geller Family Education Fund.
