Ella Gilson '21

Ella Gilson '21 won the Boardman Spartan Invitational in 18 minutes, 43 seconds — 17 seconds ahead of her runner-up — as she looked forward to competition on a good course featuring quality competition in an invitational-type atmosphere.

Interview with Nate Barnes with the News Herald:
"I felt really strong," Gilson said. "I actually started going back to swimming this week, I’m really happy with how I feel and how I ran. I feel like I ran the hill really well, in the trails I stayed strong and I just tried to push through the whole time and take out my first mile fast. I’m pretty happy with how I did."

Her team finished 5th overall in a competitive field of 27 teams.
