Class of 2021 Bids Farewell to Lyndhurst Campus

Hawken’s 8th graders participated in Closing Exercises on June 2 in the Ingalls Gymnasium, marking the end of their middle school years and their time on the Lyndhurst campus.

After a welcome from Head of School Scott Looney, graduate Aria Zai gave the welcoming address, followed by reflections from classmates Lena Sylvan and David Ricci. Anna Delia, assistant director of the Middle School, then presented this year’s recipient of the Muriel Bell Award, Zach Zbanek, who also addressed the graduates.

The Middle School Choral Ensemble offered a musical interlude, “Parting Glass,” prior to reflections by Director of the Middle School Michelle Harris, and D. Scott Looney closed the ceremony with remarks to the members of the graduating class.

Congratulations to all of our 8th grade graduates! Click here to see the program from the event; here to view a video of the ceremony; and here to view 8th graders' reflections on what they will miss, what they’ve learned, and what they are looking forward to in high school.
