Art Interprets Alzheimer's Exhibit and Forum

Parents, graduates and friends are invited to attend a public forum in the AC Lobby at Gates Mills on Thursday, April 16 at 7pm to discuss a recently installed exhibit "Art Interprets Alzheimer's."

The exhibition and the accompanying forum is designed to increase awareness about the issue of Alzheimer’s using visual art as a vehicle. On display in the AC Lobby gallery are abstract sculptures by former Hawken art teacher George Roby, portrait photos by Cleveland photographer Herb Ascherman, and a selection of paintings done by artist and Alzheimer's patient Sue Roby.

The forum will include time at the beginning for parents to view the exhibit followed by a discussion of current research, services and information available for caregivers.

Many children and young adults are or will be impacted by Alzheimers disease.  An Upper School assembly was held on April 9 to discuss this important issue with students.
