Sophomore Earns State Chess Title
Connor Keuchel ’17 participated in the 2014 Ohio Grade Level Chess Championships on November 22, and after a day of intense competition emerged State Co-Champion.
Students from all corners of Ohio competed in Cincinnati for championship titles in 13 sections of K-12. It was an intense day of playing five games of chess with small breaks in between. Connor finished with a perfect score, won all five of his games, and earned the title of State Co-Champion for the 10th grade.
Connor is a nationally recognized chess player. He has been a state champion and co-champion twice, and has placed in the top ten several times nationally. He has also been employed as a chess instructor at Hudson Montessori School since 2013.
Connor will be traveling to Florida to participate in the National Grade Level Chess Championships December 12-14. Good luck, Connor!
