Hawken Hawk to Race Sugardale Hot Dogs at Pep Rally
The Hawken Hawk is pumped and ready to take on the Cleveland Indians Sugardale Hot Dogs at Friday's pep rally.
Just how does a big bird prepare for a daunting task like the Hot Dog Derby?
"I've been running laps since I found out about the race," panted a breathless Hawk as he took a rare break. "I'm feeling good about my chances. And I'm sure the crowd cheering me on is going to help!!!"
Students, parents, faculty, staff and graduates will gather at Walton Stadium on Friday, Oct. 10 at 3:30 for a community pep rally. Along with the Sugardale Hot Dog Derby, there will be spirited cheers, activities, giveaways and other excitement to get ready for the evening football game against Independence.
Families and graduates are encouraged to attend the HawkFest picnic, and enjoy post-game fireworks.
