Five Students Medal at Team Skating Event
Three Upper School students, Rachel McKay '13, Sydney Costantini '13 and Micah Jaffe '14, along with Middle School students Marilena DeGennaro '19 and Helena Costantini '18, represented Hawken at the Ohio High School Team Figure Skating Competition February 9-10 at Thornton Park Ice Arena in Shaker Heights.
The skaters medalled in several events, earning the silver medal in high spins, the bronze medal in low spins and the silver medal in low maneuver. Due to their strong performance, they received the first place plaque for team spins. In addition, Rachel received the bronze medal for her senior showcase, Micah received a gold medal in the pre-juvenile showcase event, and Helena earned fourth place in preliminary compulsory moves.
